Men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect on Thursday morning attacked the family of a State Security Service (SSS) personnel, Aduju Zubairu, killing his three children while he was away.

The gunmen were reported to have forcefully made their way into his residence around 1:55am and slaughtered the children ages 5, 7, and 12, in the presence of their mother in Sulimanti ward of Maiduguri metropolis.

Five others were also shot dead in Borno during a night attack by gunmen also suspected to be members of the dreaded Islamic group.
