‘They slit their throats’ | Boko Haram attacks 2 villages, 30 dead

According to AFP, insurgents of Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram, on Saturday, raided two villages in Borno, leaving at least 30 people dead.

The attacks were reported to have been carried out on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13 in the villages of Yakshari and Kachifa.

According to a local vigilante assisting the military in the fight against the insurgents, Mustapha Karimbe who spoke to AFP, the insurgents carrying guns and knives attacked the villages while also stealing their cattle.

“The attackers killed 30 people in two separate attacks on the two villages last night and this morning,” Karimbe was quoted to have said.

He also revealed that the terrorist killed about 22 residents of the Yakshari village “by slitting their throats before emptying food stores and taking away all the cattle.”

The same terrorist had earlier invaded Kachifa, killing 8 people in that attack.

“We believe the same gunmen carried out both attacks on the two villages,” Karimbe said.

Despite the federal government’s insistence that the Boko Haram terrorists had been vanquished and incapacitated, the insurgents still continue to attack and ravage villages near Maiduguri, Borno state, where over 100 people have now been killed in the past week.
