Not less than eight people were killed and about 100 others were kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents in an overnight raid on Tchakarmari, a village near Cameroon’s northern border.
A local government and a military source revealed this to Reuters.
The village was reportedly attacked by Boko Haram, on Tuesday, August 4.
The local government source said: “Residents said the attackers headed back to Nigeria where Cameroon is not allowed to pursue them.”
A senior military officer in the Cameroonian military revealed that the attackers had crossed over from Nigeria shortly after midnight.
