Nnamdi Kanu denied access to British, Nigerian passports and money

The application for the release of certain personal items by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biaf‎ra, Nnamdi Kanu has been dismissed by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Nnamdi Kanu, through his lawyer, Chuks Muouma (SAN), had requested the court to order the release of some items which the Department of State Service had seized from the embattled Kanu including his British and Nigeria passports.

Kanu’s lawyer had requested for the said items on the grounds that the prosecution did not list them as exhibit for the trial and therefore would not be needed.

Justice James Tsoho had dismissed the request for the said items which also include cast amount of $2,200 and N87,000

Justice Tsoho, in dismissing the application for lacking in merit, stated that even though the items were not listed as exhibits currently, they could still be used by the prosecution in its investigations.

‎He adjourned the hearing for the protection of the witnesses of the prosecution to Friday, February 19.
