BREAKING: Kogi Speaker resigns, immediately replaced

The speaker of the Kogi state House of Assembly, Hon. Momoh Jimoh has resigned. The speaker’s resignation is coming on the heels of a long leadership tussle which the Assembly has been embroiled in.

Following Jimoh’s resignation Hon. Umarf Imam has been appointed as his replacement.

The House was thrown into crisis early in February this year when some members impeached Jimoh. This split the Assembly into two factions, the G5 and G10.

It will be recalled that on Monday the speaker of the Edo state House of Assembly, Elizabeth Ativie also stepped down.
