Nnamdi Kanu refuses to alight from prison van, remove handcuffs

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu caused a ruckus in the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, February 9 when he refused to remove his handcuffs and alight from the prison van.

The trial of the Radio Biafra Director is billed to continue as he is to answer to charges of treason and terrorism before the court.

Kanu upon being brought in handcuffed in the prison van, refused to come down from the van to proceed into the courtroom for the trial.

He remained obstinate until his lawyer, Chuks Muoma, SAN, pleaded with him to alight from the van and head to court.

However, Chuks was not able to persuade Kanu to remove the handcuffs as the detained Biafra leader promised that he would not let anybody take the handcuffs off him.

He walked into the courtroom with the handcuffs on.
