According to reports, the Emir of Kano, Ado Abdullahi Bayero is dead.

The prominent ruler is said to have died early this morning in Kano. The news was confirmed by family sources.

He was the 13th Fulani Emir of Kano and he reigned from 1963 till his death. He was 83 years old.
