‘#BudgetOfCorruption, Innoson, Made in Nigeria’ | What Nigerians are saying on Twitter today

The Nigerian Twitter-sphere is alive with various topics and discussions of national interest that are eliciting series of reactions and comments.

Here are the most prominent topics of Tuesday, February 9 and why they are trending.

#BudgetOfCorruption:

Nigerians have become increasingly skeptical and cynical about the 2016 budget, which has thrown up series of controversies- owing to the inconsistencies of the inputed figures and dubious allocations.

The Minister of Health’s revelation on Monday- that the budget of his ministry was manipulated- is possibly responsible for renewed interest and subsequent conversation among Nigerians.

Yaba:

Also trending this morning is Yaba- a prominent city in the Lagos metropolis, which is home to some of Nigeria’s finest institutions of learning as well as technology geeks and start-ups.

The Minister of Communication Technology is scheduled to visit Yaba today and also pay a visit to leading technology startup incubator- CC-hub.

Innoson/Made in Nigeria:

The Made in Nigeria conversation came back to the fore on Monday, after Senate President, Bukola Saraki visited the Made-in Aba trade fair, in Abuja.

Innoson, the first Nigerian car manufacturing industry, is at the receiving end of a Twitter-campaign by Nigerians- for Nigerians to patronise locally made products and services.

NASCO:

The federal government, on Monday, signed an MoU with biscuit manufacturer, NASCO, as part of the national feeding program of the current administration.
