This is what Buhari and House of Reps lawmakers will be doing tonight

After surviving the 2016 budget back and forth with the federal lawmakers, President Muhammadu Buhari has invited them for a dinner in Abuja today.

According to Punch Newspapers, all 360 members of the House of Representatives have been invited by the President to dine with him.

The lawmakers will be led to the dinner by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and principal officers like the Deputy Speaker, Suleiman Lasun; the House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa; and the Leader of the opposition, Leo Ogor.

Accordingly, the dinner is scheduled to begin for 8pm at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

The invitation which was extended to the lawmakers did not give the full details as to why the dinner was called for by the President.

Part of the letter, reads, “May I humbly inform the Honourable Rt. Speaker that President Muhammadu Buhari will host to a dinner, honourable members of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 20.00 hours (8pm).

“The venue is the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

“You are kindly requested to come along with all the honourable members.”

The document, with reference number SH/COS/70/A/8681, was purportedly signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.
