President Muhammadu Buhari could possibly inaugurate and assign portfolios to his ministers next week.
The Sun reports that a Presidency source revealed that President Buhari is expected to swear-in the new ministers during the course of the coming week.
The report states that the swearing-in ceremony will most certainly take place between Monday and Wednesday.
“For now, the plan is that the inauguration will hold next week. I don’t think I can be specific on the date; it may be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday … All I know is that it will hold next week.”
“Mr President has done his own bit; he has forwarded the list to the Senate. He is expecting the Senate to do its own job by furnishing him with the list of ministers-designate.”
“That is where we are right now. Nobody, except the president, can confidently tell you who is going where. None of the ministers-designate is privy of the ministry he/she will man.”
It is believed that the only factor that may hinder the swearing-in of the ministers next week, is if the leadership of the Senate doesn’t forward the names of the confirmed nominees, to the President.
