‘PDP was out to kill this country’ – Ngige

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, on Sunday said the election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 ensured that Nigeria still continued to survive.

Ngige stated this during a meeting with the leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the 327 wards in Anambra State.

He said the President’s election in 2015 saved Nigeria from total destruction.

He said the Peoples Democratic Party under former President Goodluck Jonathan would have destroyed the country through corrupt practices.

“What we saw when we came in was horrible – total decay and destruction.

“The PDP was out to kill this country. We thank God for the intervention in the 2015 general elections. In the Federal Ministry of Works alone, we inherited a debt of N400bn; in the power sector over N200bn was inherited, and so and so forth.

“The Dasukigate you hear was a loan of trillions of Naira they collected and shared among themselves. The corruption was terrible and massive,” he said.

The minister said the Buhari government had lined up relief measures to mitigate the hardship.

He said the incentives would come in various forms of empowerment, including job creation, skill acquisition, and good governance.

The minister said the contracts for the second Niger Bridge as well as that of Onitsha/Enugu Expressway had been perfected, assuring the APC members that by next year the people of South-East would have cause to salute the APC government of Buhari.

“Some people are complaining that President Buhari is favouring certain people from certain section of the country, without knowing that such people have been loyal to the President since 2003. Loyalty pays,” the minister stated.

“By next year, those who are currently occupying the Anambra State Government House, will just run away, and the APC will take over,” Ngige stated.
