While the All Progressives Congress’ party is yet to decide on who will be picked as the next Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, is subtly lobbying for the position.
Saraki says he would love succeed David Mark as leader of the Senate.
He made his ambition known on Twitter, writing: “I’m hopeful at the possibility of being nominated as Senate President of 8th Assembly. I appreciate your prayers & tweets of encouragement.”

There are speculations that Sen. Bukola Saraki and Sen. George Akume of Benue state are the frontrunners for Nigeria’s next Senate president.
