Buruj Kashamu takes part in Senate election, receives applause

Senator Buruji Kashamu, was present at the Senate chambers of the National Assembly, today, June 9, as Bukola Saraki, was elected President of the Senate.

Only yesterday, a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos quashed the extradition proceedings and the provisional warrant of arrest gotten by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to extradite the Ogun East senator-elect, to the United States to face alleged drug trafficking charges.

The court also restrained the NDLEA from arresting and arraigning Kashamu, hence, his decision to appear in public for the first time since the narcotics agency laid a siege around his house weeks ago.

The embattled Senator was cheered and applauded by his colleagues while casting his vote during the leadership election.
