A young housewife in Delta has been arrested by police in the state after reports that she arranged her own kidnapping.

33-year-old Grace Obi is said to have, along with an accomplice, faked her own abduction in a bid to extort money from her husband.

She was found out and arrested, and so was her accomplice, after the police conducted investigations into the incident.

The state Police Commissioner, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba who confirmed the arrest of the suspects yesterday, said a case of kidnapping of Grace Obi was reported at the Police Area Command, Warri, on March 7, 2014 and investigation into the case revealed that the suspect masterminded the kidnap to extort money from her spouse.
