The Christian Association of Nigeria, Kano State branch, has criticized the Federal government for not reacting over the death of about 13 people at Sheka area in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, shot by unknown gunmen.

On Tuesday, the Chairman of CAN Kano state branch, Bishop Ransom Bello said the men were attacked in a compound where some lived with their families.

He said news from the only survivor in the attack said that the gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram arrived in two taxi cabs and raged into the compound occupied by factory workers.

They divided the men from the women and children and then shot the 13 men on the spot.

According to reports, while some Muslims were praying close to the compound at about 7pm, the gunmen arrived demanding to know why the residents were not part of the 7pm Muslim prayer.

The men reportedly said the reason was simply because they were not Muslims, the men were then shot dead after ordering the women and children into their homes.

the state Police spokesman, Magaji Majia, said the Police Command would release a public statement soon.
