The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a Cherubim & Seraphim pastor for raping a 32-year-old woman within the church compound at Odogbolu in Ogun State.
The victim claimed that the she was in a prayer session with the 37-year-old pastor when he asked her to hold on to a candle stick and forcefully pulled off her clothes and had his way with her in the church.
After the victim and her relations went to report the crime to the police, the pastor was subsequently arrested by the anti-crime team attached to Odogbolu Division of Ogun State.
Muyiwa Adejobu, the Police Spokesman, confirmed the case, saying that the Pastor would soon be charged to court.
He said, “The matter is currently at the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Abeokuta and medical reports so far received on the matter confirmed that the pastor actually committed the offence and he has confessed to the crime. The matter will soon be charged to court”
Lately, cases of rape have been in the increase across the country, with reports and stories of it being recorded in numbers on a weekly basis.
This is very bad, people like this are the ones tanishing the image of the church and giving pastors bad names across the country, may God help us all I pray.
