geria’s Defense Minister, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali, on Thursday disclosed that some

Several civilians- mostly vigilantes- who have been fighting with the Joint Task Force against Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram, will soon be integrated into the nation’s armed forces.

Minister of Defence, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali, made this disclosure on Thursday, December 24.

While paying a courtesy visit to Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State in Maiduguri, the minister said many civilians had contributed immensely to the success of the troops in the war against Boko Haram.

Dan-Ali said the civilian fighters would only be integrated into the armed forces after passing necessary reviews.

Whereas the Presidency says the war against Boko Haram has been ‘largely’ and ‘technically’ won, the Minister assured that the war ‘will soon be over’.

“Since President Muhammadu Buhari’s assumption of office, we have gained more ground against Boko Haram terrorists. And I assure you the menace of Boko Haram will soon be over.”
