The Civilian Joint Task Force on Friday morning, averted a potential bomb attack in Maiduguri, Borno state.

The two male suicide bombers found with IEDs, are believed to have attempted to detonate around the Kusari area near CBN Staff Quarters.

Muslim faithfuls had just gathered for their early morning prayers at a nearby mosque when the two bombers were spotted by some community elders.

Upon discovery that their covers had been blown, they attempted to flee but were gunned down by the Civilian JTF.

A member of the Civilian JTF was quoted by Sahara Reporters to have said, “Our elders sighted them in our community roaming around, so they called them and tried to know their identities because their faces were strange to us.”

“Instead, they started running, and we pursued them, shot and killed them. There were IEDs wrapped on their bodies that did not yet explode. We thank Allah for saving us from the evil men that had wanted to wreak havoc on residents of Maiduguri. It could have been deadly if they hit their target”.
