A few hours ago one of the more popular makers of funny skits on Instagram decided to “humour” us with his take on the #BBNaija scandal that saw Kemen disqualified last weekend as a result of his sexually perverted abuse of female housemate, TBoss.
The only thing is that his late contribution to the issue that has raged all week on social media is anything but funny.
In the video, he acts out Kemen eating ponmo (why? We do not know either) as we hear a ‘Big Brother’ voice announce to Kemen that he’d been disqualified for touching TBoss without consent “even though she allowed you and she did not complain”. He ended the skit with a fading Big Brother voice repeating “I like her. I like her”, insinuating the reason the matter was resolved “against” Kemen is that the Big Brother has a thing for TBoss.

This is just distasteful. Distasteful. Just distasteful.
It’s even worse because he cannot claim not have all the details as some of the other housemates who expressed similar sentiments the night Kemen got disqualified. This young man who one would ordinarily assume has had a lot of exposure and may even himself lay claims to being “woke” has just made a joke out of a sad incident of sexual harassment.
Not only does TBoss and every victim that has gone through this kind of ordeal (Bassey too, for good measure) deserve our empathy, this experience having being played out on satellite TV and all replayed all over social media should have been an eye opener to all the victim-bashers like Ebiye out there.
Sadly it hasn’t and this so-not-funny young man has tried to take advantage of a horrible situation to advance his own popularity. Too distasteful.
