Confusion in Sokoto as prominent millionaire gets kidnapped

According to reports, Abuh Kure, a wealthy and well known resident of  Sokoto State has been kidnapped by yet unidentified assailants.

Kure, who is said to be one of the richest men in the state, was kidnapped yesterday in the heart of the metropolis.

The 60-year old was discovered to be missing when his car was found abandoned around Durabawa village in the Kware local government area of the state.

Leadership Newspaper reports:

Confirming the incident, the public relations officer of the Sokoto State Police Command, DSP Also-Mustapha Sani, said that  no arrest had been made, but assured that investigation was on to unravel the mystery behind the incident.

Abuh Kure’s car was said to have been recovered between Gagi and Durabawa village; as a result, many villagers had to scamper for fear of being arrested in connection with the recovered car.

Durabawa village is about 15-20 km from Sokoto metropolis.

Kure was equally believed to be close to the government of the day. He was given contracts and other sundry benefits, according to investigations.

People gathered in clusters to discuss the incident which they considered strange in the Seat of the Caliphate.
