Two teenage hit-girls gunned down a 20-year-old man in Guatemala’s capital city on Friday, authorities say.

The contract killers, aged 13 and 15, allegedly shot Cesar Villanueva dead as he was riding on a bicycle in Guatemala City.

Interior Minister Mauricio Lopez said it was the latest instance of criminal gangs training and employing boys and girls to murder.

This, he told news agency EFE, is because crimes committed by those under 16 years of age cannot be prosecuted as adults by law in the country.

The deadly duo were arrested on Saturday afternoon.

A National police spokesman said, “The girls confessed to having committed the murder, but did not say where they obtained the weapon from or who ordered them to kill that person.”

The pair, who have not yet been named, were transferred to a juvenile correctional facility where they will be held until a children’s court can determine their case.

It comes three weeks after a 14-year-old boy was detained with a mini Uzi sub machine gun, which he allegedly used to threaten businessmen in the south of the capital.

Two days ago, an 11-year-old boy was detained – alongside two other men – after being accused of murder.

  1. na woa those boys comiting such crime did not have parents? How can 11 or 13 years old boy or girl who have parent could be allow to comitted such crime. It means that age or old people used them to do murder act for them since the law cannot presecuted such.
