Crystal Palace have agreed a £32 million deal with Liverpool for striker Christian Benteke.
The Belgium international travelled to London on Thursday afternoon to undergo a medical after Palace revised their bid.
Liverpool dismissed an offer earlier this week of £23million plus £7m in add-ons with the bonus payments considered unrealistic by the Anfield club.
Benteke joined Liverpool last summer for £32.5m from Aston Villa and the Reds have been determined to recoup their outlay despite the 25-year-old being told he would barely figure if he remained at the club.
Palace had more money to spend following the sale of Yannick Bolasie to Everton for £25m and Mile Jedinak to Aston Villa for £4m.
Benteke has been Alan Pardew’s main objective in the window though he has also made offers for West Brom’s Saido Berahino and spoken to free agent Hal Robson Kanu.
Palace also want to add a midfielder before the window closes.
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew confirmed the agreement on Friday while fielding questions in a pre-match conference ahead of Palace’s Premiership game with Tottenham Hotspur.
AP on Benteke: "He'll have his medical today but personal terms have to be done. We've agreed everything with Liverpool."
