CSO’s withdrawal: Highest disrespect to the Office of the Governor, Wike tells IGP Idris

Governor of Rivers Nyesom Wike, has told the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris that the withdrawal of his Chief Security Officer is “disrespectful” to his Office.
Wike said this on Thursday in Port Harcourt, the state capital when the IGP visited him ahead of the re-run elections in the state.
The governor said contrary to reports that his CSO, DSP Promise Nwosu was caught protesting alongside APC supporters against him, Wike said his CSO only stopped the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Steven Hasso and APC members from invading the Government House in Port Harcourt.
“The moment you touch my Chief Security Officer, you are telling me that you are ready for me. As I sit, I am empty, I have no protection.

“When people start to embarrass the governor, take his Chief Security Officer without information, it is completely wrong. What you have done is the highest disrespect to the Office of the Governor.”

“He added, “If the police wants a free and fair elections, the police will get free and fair elections.”
