The US Customs are currently investigating a bizarre shipment through the Chicago O’Hare Airport which contained eighteen human heads.

U.S. Customs agents discovered the package, which was shipped to Chicago from Italy shortly before Christmas, on Monday. Because the shipment’s paperwork was not in order, agents confiscated the heads and sent them to the Cook County Medical Examiner for safekeeping, a spokeswoman for the medical examiner said.

Experts believe it is part of a poorly marked medical shipment but it’s up to investigators to decide whether or not they’re authorized medical specimens.

Brian Bell, the spokesman of the department of homeland security spoke about the shipment saying, “Everybody here is ‘Oh my gosh, you got a box of heads’ and everybody thinks that it’s unheard of.

“It is a potentially legitimate medical shipment. We’ve seen it at various ports in the nation,” Bell added.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office says that no foul play took place in the collection of the heads.

It is now left for officials to determine where the shipment is headed—no pun intended.
