A student of the Lagos State University simply identified as Kabiru has been killed by suspected cultists on Sunday night at Abeokuta Street, Okokomaiko, Lagos around 10pm.

This is coming after a student of the institution, Damino Damoche was killed on February 28 at the school’s second gate.

Reports say the killing of Kabiru was a reprisal to the murder of Damoche.

“There are three main cult groups in LASU. They are Eiye, Buccaneer and Black Axe. Eiye and Buccaneer have lost one member each. The war is between the two groups now.”

Meanwhile about 20 people have been arrested in connection to the killing of Damoche. The Lagos police public relations officer, DSP Ngozi Braide confirmed this saying they were arrested at Beno Hotel, Isashi, Okokomaiko, while the suspects were having a party.

“Members of on the cult groups were celebrating the death of the opposition group member in a hotel, when police arrested them,’’ a source said.

While speaking on the arrest of suspects, Braide said, “We are screening the suspects with a view to ascertaining their involvement in the killing of the student-musician. Anyone found to be involved will be prosecuted in court.”

Damoche was killed by two suspected cultists on a motorcycle at LASU gate. He has been buried.
