Danger ahead: Boko Haram plans to “launch massive attacks” during Sallah – JTF

by Hauwa Gambo

The spokesperson of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) in Borno, Colonel Sagir Musa, has announced that the Boko Haram sect plans to launch an attack during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration starting tomorrow.

“Information available to the JTF indicates that the Boko Haram terrorists are planning massive attacks on military and civilian targets in Borno State before, during and after the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir period,” a statement issued from Musa says.

“Subsequently, the terrorist group has invited foreign mercenaries to assist them in launching the attacks.”

This comes as the Yobe State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, has approved a restriction of movement in Potiskum, from Monda, between 4.00 p.m and 7.00 a.m daily.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mallam Abdullahi Bego, explains that the decision is to maintain law and order during the holidays and after.
