Dark clouds gather to conspire against the land (POETRY)

Dark clouds have gathered to conspire.
The wind is now rocking trees with astute authority
Making their leaves dance to a silent cacophony orchestrated by the unseen
Their branches bow to invincible kings of nature.
Darkness creeps upon the land.

A flash of lightening here and a thunder crack there!
Forces of darkness creep out of their shadows
Nature is howling and the heavens well up with tears
I look down on all these, my pedestal is exalted
Darkness spreads gloom like butter on a loaf

Hearts are heavy with fear, sickness, death
Forces of darkness now revel in the moment
They scheme, thievery, fear, sickness, death
The frail hearted die countless times, gloom
The strong only look inward;

Faith, No, Believe, No! Conjure strength from within
The darkness feeds upon the fear
My pedestal is exalted, I will not be moved.
My pedestal is exalted, I will not be moved
Believe, Faith, Receive, Pray

My pedestal is exalted, yet I look down
I see the message, the pain, the gloom
I see hearts hoping, wishing. Better times
I see forlorn souls, searching. Believe
I see souls, I see hearts, I see

Tired of the incessant pelting of heaven’s tears
Of the constant looting of a heart’s treasure
Of the sinister chirping of crickets and insects of the night
Of the hopelessness of hope, the futility of trying
Tired of the darkness.

I see one heart, my pedestal is exalted. I am moved
The hearts! I whisper.

Though sorrow seizes control of the dusk, joy dawns with the morning.
And I, the Sun, will arise and bring the morning, of light and new life.
