Teachers in public schools have been made a promise by the Vice president-elect.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday, pledged that teachers will get free tertiary education when the next administration is sworn in on May 29.

Osinbajo stated this during consultative meeting with Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and members of Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT in Ikeja.

The vice president-elect said that: “one of the basic problems confronting education in the country was lack of training for teachers especially those in the public schools.”

He added that education for teachers is one of the major programmes of the next administration.
