The #BringBackOurGirls group accompanied by 71 parents of the abducted Chibok girls marched on Thursday, January 14 demanding to see President Buhari.
The march was geared towards galvanizing the president into taking prompt action to see to the liberation of the kidnapped girls who have been in captivity for over 640 days.
As President Buhari geared to meet with the Chiboks parents, the president’s aides asked all the pressmen to excuse the meeting as the President would be discussing sensitive matters of national security.
Also, nobody in the meeting was allowed use of their mobile devices.
Following the reactions of some participants of the march on social media, it would appear that the president’s meeting with the BBOG group and the Chibok parents did not go down pleasantly with both parties.
Aisha Yesufu, a leader of the BringBackOurGirls movement revealed that President Buhari’s demeanor towards the agonising parents was far from encouraging.
In a series of tweets, she gave an account of what transpired during the meeting.
After the BBOG Meeting with the President today I came out with tremendous respect for the National Security Adviser Monguno ??

Even after the President had gone (That's another matter entirely ) the NSA did a lot of damage control. He calmed nerves and connected

The Chief of Defence Staff and the Minister of Defence were also great. They apologised to the parents for the treatment the day before

Chief Of Defence Staff and Minister of Defence also felt the pain of the #ChibokParents and connected and spoke soothingly to them
— Aisha Yesufu (@AishaYesufu) January 14, 2016
We waited and then the NSA came and told us the President would come to address us and they all left probably to brief the President.
