“We can’t be changing governors anyhow” | Alamieyeseigha tells Bayelsans

Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, has urged Bayelsans to stop electing new governors, in every election.

Alamieyeseigha said that the era of changing governors at will in the state was over, while urging the people of the state to support the re-election bid of Governor Seriake Dickson.

He said this on Thursday, July 30, in Yenagoa at the inauguration of a support group- Dickson Support Movement, (DSM), for the re-election bid of Governor Dickson.

Alamieyesiegha enjoined “members of the group to go to all parts of the state to sell this good product, Governor Dickson for another term in office.”

He said: “We cannot afford to be changing our governors at will. Other states created the same time with us have only had two governors in the last 16 years. But we have heard four state governors. This does not bring continuity.”
