“Our daughter is in a fragile state in the hospital” – Allison-Madueke’s family

Family members of the former minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke have reportedly enjoined Nigerians to leave their ‘daughter’ alone.

According to the Leadership, a family source of Allison-Madueke revealed that she is presently receiving treatment in a London hospital.

The family source was quoted to have said that she is responding to treatment while adding that she is ‘quite fragile’ and as such, she’s being shielded from negative media reports about her person.

“Our daughter has been in hospital where is receiving treatment for some weeks now. She is currently under close medical observation. We learnt that the observation means that she has been unable to see anyone outside close family members over the last few weeks.

“They have also discouraged her use of phones to avoid any risk of infection which will be extremely harmful for her. Diezani is responding well, but doctors are concerned about her movement and interaction given the intense treatment being administered.”

“It is such an emotional time for us all as she is quite fragile and we are careful to keep her away from all the gossip and falsehoods being attributed to her in the media. We expect the media to respect the family’s feelings at this trying time.

“The press, especially online media, should be careful to be professional and balanced in their reporting.”

  5. Nigerians are foolish and stupid arent they? Had Jonathan won election, she would have been hale and hearty! This her illness is kind o – knocking her off when Jonathan lost election! Family members remember o, even if she dies, you guys must return our stolen money. Abatcha died 17 years ago, but what he stole is still being recovered!

  6. If her hands are clean, I think no amount of falsehood shd bother her but, as James Hardley Chase said, you cannot tell the guilty not to be afraid.

  8. Nothing will happen to her by the special grace of God almighty. The family should however, encourage her to give account of her leadership of the petroleum ministry where billions of dollars have been alleged missing under her watch. Wishing her quick recovery if at all she is ill. God bless Nigeria
