A man’s compulsive lying has caused an Ilorin Area Court on Thursday to end his four-year-old marriage with his wife.

Musilimat Muritala, 39, resident of Isale Koko area of Ilorin was tired of her husband’s deceptions that she begged the court to dissolve her marriage to Muritala Nureni.

According to reports:

She told the court that her husband formulate lies and had never for once been sincere to her since they got married.

“My husband lied to me that he was travelling to Ibadan not until my younger sister saw him in Offa on Dec. 27, 2012,” she said.

According to her, the marriage was contracted in 2009 and has produced two female children.

“My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I hate liars and talkativeness,” said the complainant.

The defendant did not object to the prayer of his wife, saying that she was free to go.

“I intentionally prefer telling her lies because she does not open up to me as well,” he said.

The Presiding Judge, Mr Ibrahim Abdulquadri, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.

  1. lying of both couple 2 each other is very bad but l do not support d idea of desolving of 4yrs marriage wit two kids . D Judge would’ve fix them wit marriage counselors 2 look into their matter and find a lasting solution. Though its too common among our moslem brs 2 divos and remarry, but its not d best in dis era of our hard time, cus d children may later suffer it.
