Union Homes, one of Nigeria’s financial and Mortgage Institutions, is currently under lock and key as the staff have taken to the streets in protest.
The staff of Union Homes are protesting due to several ill treatment from their employers which includes the indiscriminate sack of over 300 members of staff, no payment of entitlements.
According to the Union leader, Sola Tokede, the company has been retrenching staff without payment of entitlement stating they are re-structuring the banking institution.
He also said the staff was downsized with the sack of 300 staff as against the initial staff strength which used to be 700, stating that their employers further downsized by telling a 100 staff to resign, leaving the remaining staff to continue work.
