Doyin Okupe, the APC helper – 7 important things you didn’t read yesterday (but should have)

by Kolapo Olapoju

1. Nobody wants Patience Jonathan in Bayelsa.

Apparently, many people don’t want the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, to visit Bayelsa state.

Joining the list of people against Mama Peace’s visit, is former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dan Etete, who says he would lead the battle to stop the First Lady, from meddling in the politics of Bayelsa State.

2. Doyin Okupe, the APC helper.

Doyin Okupe says his criticism of the All Progressives Congress, has helped them become a more solid unit… He should be rewarded, we think.

The senior special assistant to the president on public affairs, had stated that the opposition would extinct by now, but as always, he couldn’t agree to have been proven wrong.

Okupe said: “Maybe I have actually helped them, because they were very annoyed at my predictions and they tried to make sure that they remain the same.”

3. Soldiers shoot at Borno Governor.

When Boko Haram is in the area… nobody is safe, not even a governor.

Nigerian soldiers reportedly shot at the convoy of Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima… as he approached their garrison.

Shettima was in the garrison to visit wounded soldiers, when the incident occurred, and it is believed that the governor’s protocol unit was to blame, as they had failed to notify the military authorities about the intention to visit the military facility.

4. Funke Akindele unhappy with Linda Ikeji.

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele is in no way happy with popular blogger, Linda Ikeji.

Funke Akindele, has threatened to sue Ikeji, after the latter put up a post suggesting that an Instagram picture on her page was intended as a swipe on fellow actress, Toyin Aimakhu, who was recently rumoured to have separated from her husband, Adeniyi Johnson.

Her management said: “(The post has portrayed) Funke Akindele’s brand in bad light. It has promoted unhealthy rivalry where there is none.

5. Why you should or shouldn’t drink beer.

Dear Men, this is a very important article you cannot afford to disregard… as long as you’re a beer-fellow.

Recently, Nigerian Breweries Plc, hosted its inaugural talk shop on ‘1st Nigerian Beer and Health Symposium’, in Lagos, to enlighten Nigerians on the pros and cons of Beer, and why you may be slowly killing yourselves.

6. Fani-Kayode goes gentle on Charles Soludo.

After releasing his piece in which he criticised the President, Charles Soludo has been taken to the cleaners by Fani-Kayode… in a gentle manner of course.

Fani-Kayode said: “I read Charles Soludu’s contribution to the debate with amusement. I will be gentle with him because I have a soft spot for him. He has criticised the President, his government and his handling of the economy.”

7. GEJ’s aides survive Boko-Haram’s enclave.

Hopefully, President Jonathan’s aides will give him a briefing on how it is to be at the mercy of Boko Haram.

After being stuck in Maiduguri, members of President Goodluck Jonathan’s advance team arrived Abuja on Monday.

The team which comprised representatives of the media, medical and security units of the Presidential Villa, were caught up in the confusion that followed an attempt by members of Boko Haram sect to capture Maiduguri on Sunday morning.
