DSS lied, I wasn’t invited by committee on $2bn arms purchase – Sambo Dasuki

Former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd), has countered the claim of the Department of State Services, that he was invited for questioning, but he never showed up.

The DSS had stopped Dasuki from travelling abroad for medical treatment on Thursday, after a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, had ordered the agency to release his passport.

The agency premised its action on the refusal of Dasuki to honour the invitation of a committee looking into the $2 billion arms purchase in the last administration.

Dasuki however, denies receiving any invitation letter to appear before the Committee.

The former NSA said it was strange that a committee purported to be operating from the Office of the National Security Adviser could have transferred its mandates to DSS..

Sambo Dasuki was first arrested by the State Security Services in July and was charged to court with illegal possession of arms and money laundering.
