Final year student killed by DSS operatives on first day of Industrial Training

An agent of the Department of Security Services on Tuesday, killed Paul Hezekiah, a 24-year-old final year student of computer engineering at the University of Jos.

Paul was observing his three-month Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) with Johnson Sky Phones and Company, at the Central Business District of Jos, when he was murdered.

DSS operatives were reported to have invaded the Central Business District to make arrests when the incident occurred.

Paul, who was on his first day at work, had attempted to enter his shop when operatives started the raid, and he was caught in the line of fire and shot at close range.

He immediately slumped after which the DSS operatives bundled him into a while Hilux van and drove off.

Punch Newspapers reports that Paul died in the Hulux van and the DSS operatives took his corpse to the mortuary of the Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Jos.

Adekunle Oladunjoye, the Police Commissioner in Plateau State, was reported to have confirmed the incident.
