The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has halted the announcement of results of the Edo State governorship election.

Protest is ongoing at the INEC headquarters in Edo state as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are at the venue collation centre demanding a cancellation of the election.

INEC says it will resume collation by 12pm.

The APC candidate Godwin Obaseki is currently leading in the results announced so far by INEC.
