It certainly doesn’t get more eerie than this. A young man drove his truck off a cliff, right after sending a text saying he needed to stop texting while driving.

Chance Bothe, a 21-year-old college student in Texas sent a text to a friend saying, “I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident.” with no idea he would plummet off a cliff right after that.

He survived the accident with several physical injuries, but his truck was damaged beyond repair. He is unfortunately going to suffer lifelong ailments due to the injuries he sustained, which include a broken neck, a crushed face, a fractured skull, and traumatic brain injuries.

He also ‘died’ on three separate occasions and had to be brought back to life by doctors after the accident which took place in January last year. He is going to suffer lifelong ailments as a result of the injuries he sustained during his accident. He has even had to learn how to speak again.

“My face was broken from my cheekbones all the way up,” Bothe told the New York Daily News.

He went on to warn others about the dangers of texting while driving, saying, “I know I died like three times but God didn’t keep me away from coming back here. I have a higher purpose in being here. And I think it’s to tell everyone not to text message and drive.”

“Don’t do it. It’s not worth losing your life,” he said.
