3 quotes by EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, as he takes over from Lamorde (PHOTOS)

Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde, has handed over to his successor, Ibrahim Mustapha Magu.

Magu, who was appointed on Monday, November 9, has promised to ‘ginger up the anti-corruption campaign’ of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The new EFCC boss said corruption must be fought to a standstill, as no meaningful development can occur in a deeply corrupt entity.

Here are 3 notable quotes from his first speech as EFCC boss.

1. “I want to state our resolve not to falter on the well-established tradition of patriotism, dedication, courage and fearlessness, and we will take this responsibility with utmost seriousness that it deserves.”

2. “There is the need to make sure that whatever is gotten for common use did not end up in private pockets. I am ready and willing to work with everybody without any primordial concerns.”

3. “While we will intensify on our work out there, we will also keep an eye internally, and will not tolerate indiscipline nor condone abuse of office or acts of corruption.

Magu, who has only one picture on the internet, also took photos with the outgoing EFCC boss, Lamorde.
