Governor El-Rufai bans begging and hawking in Kaduna state

The Kaduna state government has announced measures to enhance security in the state after the Tuesday morning explosion in Zaria.

According to Premium Times, this was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by the spokesperson to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Samuel Aruwan.

“All beggars and hawkers are to stay off the streets until further notice. Any beggar or hawker found on the streets will be arrested until these measures are relaxed,” the statement said.

El-Rufai further reiterated that the ban on motorcycle taxis (achaba) is still active and that the law would be strictly enforced in this regard.

He commended the people of the state for being vigilant and he urged residents of the state to report all suspicious persons and movements to security agencies.
