Enugu closes shop on Thursday for GEJ rally

by Azubuike Azikiwe

The Enugu State Government has declared Thursday, September 25 a work-free-day for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election rally.

A statement by Mr Chuks Ugwoke, the state’s Commissioner for Information, directed markets, banks and schools in the state to remain shut while the rally lasted.

Ugwoke said the closure was to enable the people to participate fully in the rally, organised by the Enugu Movement for the Re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan (EMJ).

He advised the people to adhere to the directive and appealed to them to come out en masse to attend the rally, billed to hold at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
