And the new Deputy Governor of Enugu is… a pastor! [DETAILS]

by Kolapo Olapoju

Following the impeachment of Sunday Onyebuchi on chicken-rearing charges, the Enugu State House of Assembly has confirmed Pastor Ralph Nwoye as the new deputy governor of the state.

His name was reportedly sent to the Assembly on Wednesday, 27 August, and the former caretaker local government chairman has now been confirmed.

Although the charges against the impeached deputy governor were spurious, the state seems to have moved on, with the confirmation of Nwoye, who is a pastor at the Christ Ascension Church, Enugu.

Former deputy Governor, Sunday Onyebuchi, was impeached on Tuesday, 26 August over allegations of raising chickens within his official quarters and failure to represent Governor Sullivan Chime at some occasions.

The former deputy governor has however said he would challenged his removal in court, owing to the fact that it was unconstitutional.
