EPL Roundup: Ibrahimovic scores in debut as Liverpool beat Arsenal in 7-goal thriller

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored on his debut in the English Premier League.

The Swedish forward powered a low shot from 25 yards to extend Manchester United’s lead to 3-0.

Goals from Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney had given Jose Mourinho’s team an earlier two-goal lead.

Bournemouth pulled one back through Adam Smith to end the game 3-1 to United.

The much talked about game of the week between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium did not only live up to its hype, but turned out to be an absolute thriller.

7 goals were shared between both sides as a brace from Philippe Coutinho, one goal apiece from Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane was enough to give Liverpool the three points.

Arsenal took the lead through Theo Walcott as the Gunners capitalised on an error by Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. Walcott had earlier had his penalty saved by Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet before giving Arsenal the lead.

Philippe Coutinho restored parity as he drove a stunning free-kick into the top corner before the stroke of half time.

Liverpool resumed the second half on fire as they scored two goals in quick succession. Lallana slotted home from a cross by Georgino Wijnaldum, before Coutinho scored from close range with a low cross from full back Nagthaniel Clyne.

A brilliant solo goal by Senegalese Sadio Mane capped up a brilliant performance from Klopp’s men as he split Arsenal’s defence before scoring.

Arsenal fought back as goals from Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and Callum Chambers scored to reduce the lead to 4-3.
