It’s not every time you hear Sat Guru Maharaj Ji speak to the press but in Port Harcourt, Rivers State recently, the cleric was moved by the happenings and urged President Goodluck Jonathan not to grant the Islamic sect, Boko Haram any amnesty.

The spiritual head of One Love Family said the Boko Haram attacks in some states of the north were fueled by anger from the northern elite who have lost out of power.

He added that the killing of “innocent Nigerians across northern Nigeria” by the Boko Haram sect was more political than moral.

“Boko Haram is simply the fighting machine of fading northern oligarchy whose loss of political grip on Nigeria has been causing it sleepless nights since it became clear to its members that former President Olusegun Obasanjo was stubbornly opposed to Nigeria’s existence under their stagnating authority,” he said.

According to reports, he added that Boko Haram is the “malicious tool for fighting against freedom for Nigeria from spiritual slavery, political disarray, economic stagnation and global hatred.”

“For Boko Haram and its amnesty-demanding backers, the game is over! No reprieve, no amnesty! This is the simple position of morality and justice in relation to their sustained practice of savagery in the face of progressive change”.

The Daily Independent reports:

He recalled that General Ibrahim Gusau had at one time confessed that he had agreed to rule Nigeria in turn among him, General Ibrahim Babangida and the late General Sani Abacha, saying that one of such plans to make the dream a reality was the attempt to lure Jonathan to appoint Gusau a National Security Adviser, NSA, which did not come to pass.

He however condemned the call by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’aid, that federal pardon should be given to the sect members, noting that “by asking for amnesty for Boko Haram is the Sultan telling the world that he has all the while been on the side of the gang?”

Meanwhile, the cleric has called on the likes of Babangida, Atiku Abubakar, Mohammedu Buhari, Abdulsalami Abubakar and the CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to sheathe their swords and help move the nation forward.
