Everything you need to know about Muhammad Ali’s burial today

Today, the world is set to pay its last tribute to a man who used his talents to entertain and inspire his generation and the ones to come.

Muhammad Ali (formerly Cassius Clay) is being laid to rest today in his hometown of hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

The 74-year-old’s funeral procession will kick-start from downtown Louisville and along the same street where he was given a hero’s reception upon his return from the 1960 Rome Olympics as a gold medal champion.

A public memorial service will be held at KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville.

The event is expected to be attended by at least 15,000 attendees.

Former President Bill Clinton, comedian Billy Crystal have been named among the high profile speakers at the event along with two other anonymous speakers.

The service is set at about 6pm GMT (1pm CET) and will be streamed live on the Ali Center’s web site.

However, his funeral procession which will begin at 9am (American time) and will go through certain places significant and synonymous to his career – such as the Ali Center museum, his childhood home, and the Muhammed Ali boulevard.
