eXploring: Zina Anumudu and Denola Grey in the world of #MadeInNaija fashion

After last week’s episode of eXploring where Zina Anumudu and Denola Grey explored alternative traditional medicine by visiting a traditional maternity home, an ifa diviner and a traditional bone setter (orthopedic doctor), the duo delved into the world of fashion on this week’s episode of the most exciting show on TV.

This episode of eXploring tagged ‘Fashion’ is an interesting on the many fashion products ranging from slippers, sandals, bags, shoes, shoe-shaped bags made with Ankara material.

It sure was exciting!

The first guest on ‘Fashion’ was Eseoghene Odiete, the award-winning designer and CEO of Hesey Designs, who started her business in 2012 with just N10, 000, and has already designed sneakers for Richard Branson. Impressively, she’s just 25 years old.

On the show, she explained how she had no money to pay for marketing or publicity when she started her company and had to resort to driving her sales through Blackberry Messenger display pictures, pictures of her product on Social media as well as impressed bloggers who posted pictures of her market on their sites.

Next to be visited was Kene Rapu, the lawyer/model/fashion designer who also uses local materials to make footwear.

She started with female shoe designs, selling to family and friends before she decided to expand it into a full-time business and she now produces male and female footwear.

From her experience, delving into the fashion industry for the quick and fast money is the same as building a castle in the sky.

eXploring airs on ONTV channel 41, every Wednesday from 7.00 p.m to 7.30 p.m. It is a compelling 30 minutes show that promises interesting interview topics and investigations into the many entertaining sights, sounds and realities of life in Nigeria.
