Explosion reported at federal high court in Rivers

There was an explosion outside the premises of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, today, July 9.

The explosion occurred around the time the court was in session, for ruling on the case against the 22 Local Government chairmen and councillors in Rivers.

Heavy security presence has been reported on Station Road where the High Court is located.

Justice Akambi ruled that the conduct of their election was illegal and an abuse of court process, owing to the fact that the matter was pending in court.

He therefore nullified the election.
