Ezeife to Buhari: ‘Hand over Petroleum Minister portfolio to Ibe Kachikwu’

In reaction to the lingering fuel scarcity in the country, former governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign as Petroleum Minister.

Ezeife said that the tasks of a petroleum minister are many and quite challenging, hence it would be difficult to combine with the duties of a President.

“The works of a petroleum minister are too challenging to be combined with the numerous and complex jobs of President and Commander-in-Chief at a critical time like this.”

He explained that the adverse ripple effect of trying to multi task would be lack of focus and inefficiency, while stating that Nigerians were already feeling untold hardship.

Ezeife urged Buhari to concentrate on his war against corruption, insecurity and how to effectively lead the nation.

He said it would wise for Buhari to allow his Minister of State, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, take charge of the ministry, with clear objectives of what he wants to achieve.
