Police lied? Olu Falae reveals that ransom was paid before his release

Contrary to what was earlier reported,  former Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) Olu Falae, has confessed that his family paid ransom to his kidnappers before he was set free on Thursday, September 24.

Falae purportedly revealed on Monday, that the kidnappers freed him after receiving payment from his family.

Although the amount paid is yet to be ascertained, Premium Times quoted Falae as insinuating that the Police lied about the ransom details.

Ondo Police spokesperson, Wole Ogodo, while confirming Falae’s release on Thursday, had stated that no ransom was paid for the release.

The Force spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, had spoken in a similar vein, stressing that Falae was rescued as a result of the effort of the Police.

Kolawole had said:

“The operation which started in the early hours of the aforementioned date, combed every nook and cranny of Ondo state till success was achieved in Owo.”
