For the first time since Sanusi Lamido Sanusi became the Emir of Kano, he met up with President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday, 23 July at the Presidential villa.
Sanusi was part of a delegation of traditional rulers from northern Nigeria led by Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Sa’ad Abubakar III that visited the President to break Wednesday’s Ramadan fast. The President shook Sanusi’s hands and had a brief chat with him during the brief ceremony.
The pair had been at loggerheads ever since Sanusi went to court to challenge the President’s right to remove him from his former position as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
